Venus Williams’ new tennis job

Venus Williams There will be significant returns this month.

Former world number one Venus Williams will join the TNT sports broadcast team’s Roland Garros report.

The Clay Court Grand Slam begins on May 25 in Paris.

The 44-year-old Venus joins TNT’s announced broadcast team, which includes the Hall of Fame Andre Agassi, Chrissie Evert, Jim Courier, John McEnroe and Lindsay Davenport and Grand Slam Champion Sloane Stephens and Caroline Wozniacki.

In June 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery Department TNT Sports reached a 10-year, $650 million deal with the French Tennis Federation to add Roland-Garros to the U.S. senior sports rights portfolio

TNT Sports touted its deal with Roland-Garros’ 35-year relationship with Roland-Garros, becoming Warner Bros. Discovery “becomes Roland-Garros’ largest global broadcast partner and will provide the most comprehensive coverage of the most famous event ever made in the United States.”

Four-time Olympic gold medalist Venus made his debut at Roland Garros when he entered the second round in 1997. Venus entered the 2002 Roland Garros final, losing 7-5, 6-3 to the Serena Williams sisters in the open crown of Serena’s virgin France, and the Serena Grand Slam started.

The seven-time main singles champion Venus made her latest appearance in her first round defeat in 2021.

Venus’ latest major appearance is the owner of 49 professional singles champions, at the 2023 U.S. Open. Venus defeated Diana Shnaider 6-3, 6-3 in the 2024 Miami Open door opener. Although she has not officially retired, Williams will celebrate her 45th birthday on June 17.

*Tennis Channel will be replayed on the evening TV show Roland Garros game.
