Orange Smoothie Recipe – Taste like orange Julius!

This basic orange smoothie recipe is easy to make with just 3 ingredients! Combine it into a healthy breakfast or snack.

Creamy orange peel
If you've been ordering an orange Julius smoothie at a shopping mall since you've been a kid, you'll love this homemade orange smoothie because it tastes exactly like a classic!
As a kid, I always had to go to the cow queen to go to the orange Julius after soccer practice. So one day, my mom came up with her own version for a small portion of the cost.
The DIY orange drink is thick, sweet and creamy, while rich in fiber, iron and vitamin C.
Plus, you can do it without bananas, yogurt, or added sugar. This is a great healthy recipe for picky eaters and parents.

Orange Smoothie Recipe Ingredients
All you need is orange and orange juice, the milk of choice, and optional pure vanilla extract and sweetener (if needed).
tangerine – The fresh orange color gives this smoothie a thick texture and a natural citrusy flavor.
Go with your navel, Kara Kara, Mandarin or any other orange variety at any time. If you use lactating nuts, I recommend adding a third orange color as they are smaller.
For a stronger orange flavor, put a fruit in one piece before discarding the peel.
Orange juice – I love fresh squeezed orange juice. You can squeeze your own cartons in the store or buy cartons like Tropicana or Minute With Pulp.
For fun flavors, look for orange juice mixtures with other fruits like mango, carrot, cranberry, watermelon, peach, pineapple or apple.
milk – Any milk can be used, including a non-cream option for vegan orange peel. My favorites are oat milk, almond milk or coconut milk.
You can replace the milk with more orange juice. However, I prefer to include milk because it gives the smoothie an orange buttery flavor.
vanilla – Pure vanilla extract adds depth to the flavor. If using vanilla-flavored milk, omit the extract or add a drop of almond extract.
Optional sweetener – Depending on your personal taste preferences and whether or not you add sugar, you may want to add pure maple syrup, honey, sugar or stevia.

first step: The best fruit smoothie favorite tip is to freeze the orange juice in an ice cube tray in advance. This step is optional but produces thicker smoothies.
Step 2: Peel the oranges and remove any seeds.
Step 3: Add all ingredients to the blender and process until smooth. Do not add any water or ice as this will dilute the flavor.
Step 4: Pour in two glasses and enjoy!
If you find yourself having leftovers, store them in the refrigerator. Combine the smoothie with a spoon or stir before drinking within two days.
