I just love celebrating holidays with food! What I learned is that it doesn’t always have to be a well-crafted delicacy. Fun and simple snacks are usually the most exciting snacks for my family. These spiders on logs are always popular and easy to make! Getting kids to the kitchen is a great option. They made the perfect snacks after school and we absolutely loved them on the Halloween snack tray!

How to make a spider on a log:

  1. Wash the celery and cut into sticks.
  2. Sprinkle peanut butter over celery.
  3. Melt half of the chocolate chips and place them in a pipe bag.
  4. Put 3 chocolate chips upside down on each celery stick to place the spider body.
  5. Use melted chocolate to push your legs into the spider.
  6. enjoy!

If your child doesn’t like celery, sprinkle peanut butter onto apple slices!

If you are dealing with peanut allergy, Sunbutter is a great alternative.

To melt the chocolate, place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Stir until the chocolate chips melt. If necessary, heat at 10 seconds intervals or until smooth.

Cut the spider into bite-sized pieces and spread over the marble counter.
