Gasquit said at a press conference that he still couldn’t believe his professional tennis career was over, but he was looking forward to the next chapter.
“It’s over, it’s a little weird. I can’t state the opposite. It’s weird to end here because I haven’t really taken everything away. But I’m so happy and happy to end here when I’m almost thirty-nine.

“I can’t dream for a better ending because you know, you never know what would happen in the last game,” Gasquit said. “Every day, every day isn’t always that easy. So it’s a wonderful purpose for me to play against No. 1 in the world on Chatrier today.
“So I’m very happy with the ability of this game. It’s a little weird because there’s no pressure tomorrow. There’s no rehabilitation. There’s no training. There’s no lawn tennis. So that’s the most surprising thing. I had my thoughts and just told me I’m going to get back and rest.”
Nadal also held his farewell ceremony a few days ago in Paris, where he posted a heartfelt message to his friends on social media, who have known since becoming young teenagers 20 years ago.

Gasquet won 610 professional ATP tours, 16 professional championships, over $21 million in prize money and seventh in professional senior world rankings.
What’s next? More tennis, but for entertainment and love the sport.
