This healthy lemon frozen yogurt recipe is a sweet, creamy, rich and refreshing dessert for summer!

If you told me a year ago that I had chosen a lemon dessert over chocolate, I would never trust you.

However, here, I’m happy to eat this homemade lemon froye every night, completely ignoring the pint of the chocolate fudge brownie ice cream in the freezer.

That’s how the recipe tastes. There is only one lemon spoon and you will need to do it over and over again!

Low calorie. Homemade lemon frozen yogurt consumes less than 100 calories, with very little saturated fat, no trans fat and 11% iron of iron.

Key Ingredients

Greek yogurt – For best results, use full fat Greek yogurt. As a vegetarian, I love free Greek yogurt, which is also sugary.

Lemon juice and rind – Since you need enthusiasm anyway, I recommend fresh lemon juice. But bottled lemon juice does work.

Sweetener – Here, most universal sugar or liquid sweeteners are good choices, including pure maple syrup, honey, white sugar or xylitol, sugar-free.

Turmeric (optional) – Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and is rich in antioxidants such as curcumin. It also adds a bright natural yellow color. If you prefer, use a few drops of food coloring or enjoy frozen yogurt without any added color.

Selected toppings – Try blueberries, whipped cream or vegetarian lemon curds. Blackberry jam or fresh raspberries and mint are also great.

How to make a lemon frozen dessert

  1. Stir the yogurt, sweetener, lemon juice and rind well. If using turmeric or food coloring, add it now too.
  2. To use an ice cream maker, simply stir the mixture according to the manufacturer’s brand and model instructions. If frozen yogurt sticks to the sides, place the entire container in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. With the effect of thawing, scaling the sides becomes much easier.
  3. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, freeze it in an ice cube tray. Thaw enough to handle the mixer or food processor, then mix the frozen lemon yogurt ice until smooth.
  4. Use immediately as a soft hair service and freeze for about 15 minutes if you want a stronger texture.
  5. Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator and thaw before enjoying.
  6. When the ice cream maker goes out, try three ingredients, strawberry sorbet.

For frozen yogurt with lemon in Ninja Cream, pour in the highest pint level and freeze for 24 hours. Follow the machine-specific setup instructions and process it on the Ice Cream settings. If it is brittle, add a little milk and process it again.

Lemon yogurt is adapted from my homemade frozen yogurt recipe.

  • 2 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt or dairy-free alternatives
  • 1/3 cup sugar Or a sweetener of choice
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 1 Spoon Lemon peel (From 1 lemon)
  • 1/2 TSP Ground turmeric Or a few drops of food coloring, optional, with a brighter color
  • To make lemon frozen yogurt, first stir all the ingredients in a large cup. If using an ice cream manufacturer, just pour the mixture into a refrigerator and stir according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Or, if you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze. Thaw enough to make it easy for the mixer or food processor to handle, then stir until smooth.
