this American Medical Association John Whyte is appointed as the next CEO. Whyte currently serves as WebMD’s chief medical officer, and he will hold a new position on July 1.

Conference Therapy Michael Binks is welcomed as the new chief medical officer. In the past, he has held administrative positions at drugmakers such as Pfizer and Glaxosmithkline.

CentivoIt is a health program sold only to self-funded people, hiring Sarah Fraser as the first CFO of all time. She most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of pharmacy startup Capsule.

Gene Therapy Company Yes Amy Pott is welcomed as its new chief global commercialization officer. She joined Astellas Pharma, and most recently she was the global commercialization leader in ophthalmology and rare diseases.

this FDA Named Jeremy Walsh as the inaugural chief AI officer. He joined the agency from government contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, where he spent 14 years and most recently served as chief technology expert.

Healthcare AI Company Iodine software Valerie Mondelli was hired as the first chief business officer. She most recently served as chief commercial officer at Revspring, a healthcare revenue cycle management company.

Acute health IT provider PointClickCare Nicolette Turner is welcomed as the new chief financial officer. She joined the company from Headspace and most recently she served as CFO.

Healthcare Communications Company tigerconnect Sean O’Neal is appointed as the new CEO. He joined the company from Communications Platform Sinch, where he most recently served as Chief Product Officer.

Virginia UVA Health Named Stephanie Schnittger as the new chief financial officer. Schnittger will take her new role on July 7, joining the system at Luminis Health, Maryland, where she currently serves as CFO. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Sentara Healthcare and Inova Health System.

Promotion

Northern California-based health system Sutter Heath Named Jonathan Ma as the new chief financial officer. He joined the system in 2019 as Treasurer and Vice President of Strategic Finance. Prior to this, he spent nearly 15 years at Morgan Stanley.

Information Service Company Wolters Kluwer Appointed as CEO of its health department, Greg Samios joined the company in 2014 and served as executive vice president of two of the health department’s largest business departments, namely clinical effectiveness and health learning, research and practice.

Karen DeSalvo, GoogleThe chief health officer announced that she will retire in August. After serving as acting assistant secretary and national health information technology coordinator at HHS, she joined the tech giant in 2019. She will be replaced by Michael Howell, who is currently the chief clinical officer of Google.

UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty resigned for “personal reasons.” He was replaced by Stephen Hemsley, who served as the company’s CEO from 2006 to 2017. The news comes weeks after the company lowered its annual forecasts due to a disappointing first-quarter performance, while UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in December for months.

Layoffs
