Holger runes and João Fonseca Come to San Francisco! The talented youngsters are the latest players to compete in this year’s Laver Cup, each of which will debut in a match held at Chase Center in San Francisco from September 19-21, 2025.
Rune (European Team) and Team World join a stellar roster that already includes Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz For the European team, and Taylor Fritz,,,,, Tommy Paul and Ben Sheldon For the team world.
Rune was named Laver Cup in Vancouver in 2023 but was unable to participate due to injury.
“I’m really looking forward to the game and visiting San Francisco for the first time,” World No. 10 said. “It’s going to be a great atmosphere, and since talking to other players, I know that Laver Cup is one of the most enjoyable games of the year. I can’t wait to be a part of it.” World captain Andre Agassi is excited to have the talented 18-year-old around him, currently ranked 65th.

“Joor is the young talent that makes the Laver Cup so special,” Agassi said. “He’s fearless, full of energy, has a huge game, loves the big stage. His performance shows me that he’s ready for it. I’m sure he’ll thrive in the team environment and I’m really looking forward to working with him and getting to know him better.”
Agassi may eventually win his chief Brazil title in Buenos Aires in February, one of his three captain draft picks.
The same is true for the runes (Rune) of the current eighth-ranked European player.

According to Roland-Garros on Monday after the three top players from Europe and the world, their ATP singles rankings were automatically invited to participate in the Laver Cup. If any of these players choose not to participate, the offer will be made to another senior player. The remaining three places on each team will be “the captain’s draft pick” that can be announced any time before the start of the U.S. Open. By naming Rune and Fonseca as their team, Noah and Agassi promised that they would pick them if they didn’t qualify based on the rankings.
