Homemade and store-buyed

The first good reason to make your own chocolate peanut butter eggs at home is to save money.

At the grocery store, only a pack of Reese king-sized peanut butter eggs cost nearly three dollars. By comparison, you can whisk a batch of DIY chocolate eggs for the same price.

Unlike the famous yellow packaging version, these homemade Reese peanut butter eggs include free dairy, free vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free, low-carb and oil-free options without artificial flavors.

The best part is that homemade chocolate eggs taste almost exactly like what you know and like chocolate eggs!

Making your own stuff at home is so easy that you may never want to buy another pack of chocolate peanut butter eggs.

Ingredients in Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs

These chocolate peanut butter Easter eggs require only four to five ingredients.

Peanut Butter – Choose your favorite smooth or crunchy peanut butter. Natural and traditional jars work well.

For best taste, I recommend pairing it with salted nut butter, or stir about one-eighth teaspoon of meal salt.

Feel free to use other nuts or seed butter instead of peanuts. Try almond butter, cashew butter, pistachio butter, homemade peanut butter or sunflower seed butter without allergies.

Protein powder – Combine candy eggs with your favorite flavored or unsweetened protein powder, oat flour, or almond flour.

Due to the thickness difference between these three ingredients, you may need to add more flour or more peanut butter to achieve the right texture.

You may play with other flours, such as spelling or coconut flour. However, I only stood behind the choice above, and I tried it myself in my own kitchen.

Maple Syrup – Pure maple syrup and honey or agave add sweetness to Easter candy. I also include a ketone version in the recipe box below for those who prefer to add powdered sugar with powdered sugar sweetener.

chocolate – You have two choices for chocolate paint. The first option is to simply use melted dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips. The second is to make a healthier chocolate sauce with cocoa powder, coconut oil and maple syrup or stevia.

How to Make Peanut Butter Eggs

If your peanut butter is not soft and easy to stir, gently warm 1 ½ cup on the microwave or stove to soften it.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together softened peanut butter, protein powder or flour and optional salt.

Mix in pure maple syrup to form a crumbly dough.

Some nut butters and protein powders are drier than others, so if the dough is too dry or the flour looks too wet, you may want to add more peanut butter.

Once the mixture reaches the peanut butter cookie dough texture, use your hand to shape the oval egg, rabbit or other shape of your choice.

Place No Bake Chocolate Eggs on a large plate lined with parchment or wax paper. Then refrigerate or freeze the plate while preparing the chocolate sauce.

To make chocolate paint with chocolate chips, carefully melt the debris in a microwave-safe bowl or using a dual boiler method. To make the sauce smoother, stir a teaspoon of coconut or vegetable oil after it melts.

Another Chocolate Sauce: Mixed Two tablespoons each Unsweetened cocoa powder, coconut oil and pure maple syrup or honey (or two tablespoons of water and stevia flavor) until completely smooth.

Remove peanut butter eggs from the refrigerator and cover them with a spoon with melted chocolate. Or dip into the coating with a fork or string.

Place the plate back in the refrigerator or freezer for at least ten minutes. This step will set up the chocolate crust.

I recommend refrigerating or freezing leftovers and enjoying a cold diet. However, if you are at a party or Easter dessert, you can keep the chocolate eggs on the counter for a few hours.

The best Easter candy

Chocolate peanut butter eggs have always been my favorite Easter. It seems that I am far from alone.

According to national sales and voting data, Reese’s milk chocolate peanut butter egg is the most popular and most-selling Easter candy.

Year after year, the chocolate peanut butter egg beats the chocolate bunny, marshmallow peek, Cadbury egg, M&MS, jelly beans and Hershey’s kiss.

Whether it’s shop-buying or homemade, chocolate eggs are always growing in popularity, and there’s a good reason.

No one can resist these thick peanut butter candies with smooth chocolate shells.

A batch is served in next spring or Easter brunch, or keep it yourself!
