Key Ingredients

Depending on the brand and choice of your choice, desserts can be dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, added sugar and vegetarian. The Keto version is also in progress.

Chocolate chips – Pair with dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, milk chocolate or combination. You can even substitute for sliced peanut butter or cream jam.

Chickpeas – Yes, chickpeas. Cannellini or Great Northern White Beans also work. Beans add incredible softness and moisture to the recipe.

Use two standard size jars (15 ounces each) or equal number of cooked beans.

Quick Oats – You can choose from quick oats, instant oats, or low-carb almond flour to thicken the frying pan dessert.

If you roll the oats on hand only, stir the oats a few times in the food processor before adding the remaining ingredients.

Applesauce – Applesauce and yogurt (ordinary or Greek) work just as well. Mashed bananas, sweet potatoes and canned pumpkins are great alternatives if you wish.

Nut Butter – Try peanuts or almond butter for healthy fats and add protein. Or choose oil (vegetable, avocado or coconut oil) for a neutral flavor.

Sweetener – I love brown sugar because it produces the best cookie dough flavor. Fill in unrefined coconut sugar, white sugar or xylitol for all work in sugar-free selection.

It is OK to use pure maple syrup or honey. The texture is just thick and fluffy instead of chewy.

Other ingredients – The simple deep-dish cookie cake recipe also requires baking powder, salt, baking soda and pure vanilla extract.
