Compass Group volunteers mobilize support for community devastated by fire in Los Angeles

Hundreds of people in and around Los Angeles are still picking up debris after sweeping the county in January. Wildfires broke out on January 7, 2025, destroying communities in Palisade and Eaton and elsewhere. Many people lost their homes and dozens of them died. As these communities struggle with ongoing crisis, several of our teams help them by organizing donation drives, volunteering to attend time and gathering the people who need it most.
Ten departments of the Compass Group were put in to help give back. Volunteers from the Community Network 7, Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, CCL Hospitality Group, Cafeteria, Levy, Wolfgang Puck, Fresh and Ready, Eulest, Flik, Bon Appetit and Chartwells gathered to classify over 40,000 pounds of produce into 40,000 pounds of products in the Los Angeles Government Food Bank to help those affected by the corrupt fires.
“I am very proud of how our teams come together. We feel very responsible for giving back when we witness the destruction around us. Organizing this event is truly a labor of love, and seeing so many people eager to contribute is nothing more than inspiring. Thanks to all who have made this possible.”

Additionally, Levy HR coordinator Stephanie Lara created an inspiring message to each boxed lunch, reminding people of their right place and the right time, “surrounded by Compass Group brothers and sisters.”
Crothall's Patient Experience Manager Toni Jaime took the opportunity to volunteer as a way to celebrate her birthday. She said there is no better way to celebrate than serving the community she grew up in.
Toni brought her teenage daughter to teach her the value of kindness, gratitude and community service.
