Anisimova sets up RG showdown with No. 1 Sabalenka

With a career-high 16th place, Anisimova doubled the Dangerous Towson’s championship total (38 to 16) and broke three times.

In the battle for her seventh Roland Garros, Anisimova and the world’s number one Aryna Sabalenka.

Earlier, Sabalenka tamed the tricky left-handed Olga Danilovic 6-2, 6-3 entered the fourth round of Roland Garros for the third consecutive year.

Three-time Major Champion Sabalenka surrendered only 10 games in three games as she seemed to be driven to collect the Roland Garros championships of her mother-in-law.

The 23-year-old Anisimova’s 5-2 game against Sabalenka won three of four clay court clashes.

The fourth round was a 2019 rematch for Roland Garros, which was Anisimova Sweep Sabalenka 6-3, 6-2. That summer, then 17-year-old Anisimova electrified Paris was about to reach the semifinals and took a set from ultimate champion Ash Barty and bowed three sets.

Control the Stadium Center – Active lineup will be two keys when Anisimova and Sabalenka Square win the quarterfinals.

“We both have some big hitters, so I’m sure we’re going to go back and forth,” Anisimova said. “Yes, [she’s] Obviously one of the best now.

“She is number one. I think it’s always a good showdown. I really like the battles and challenges she brings. I’m just looking forward to it. Hopefully I can bring my game. Hope it’s going to be a good match.”

Twelve Americans – Seven Women and Five Men – joined Roland Garros’ third round. This is the second time since 1991 (14), when the Americans over 12 entered the third round at the French Open.

Anisimova beat 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, who won the WTA 1000 in Doha, and he enjoyed her best season after struggling, forcing her to stay away from the sport and pursue the love of art.

Anisimova said tennis has become “unbearable” to her since the burning in the summer of 2022.

“I don’t think I’m really great,” said Anisimova. “So it’s been a long time. It took me a long time to make this decision. Obviously, I think it’s a big decision to leave the game at any time.

“We really never get a break whether it’s mid-season or preseason.”

Today, Anisimova seems to enjoy herself more in court and manages her schedule to bring herself more spiritual rest.

Anisimova beat the shot firmly, surprised the second seed Sabalenka 6-4, 6-2, to advance to her first WTA WTA WTA 1000 semifinal in Toronto, her first tour semifinal since 2022 Charleston. Since then, the world’s 139 Anisimova has become the lowest-level woman to enter the Canadian Open Semi-finals, 2017 937 Sloane Stephens, and has been soaring since.

The ball is expected to be injured when the top shooter fights against the explosive power player.

Interestingly, this week, within the 14th court range, Anisimova won her three-game winning streak, where she received strong support.

Facing the world number one Sabalenka, it may be on Philippe Chatrier to give Anisimova a chance to show off her game on the sport’s largest red clay stage.

“It’s always special to play a person who ranks first in the world. It’s not that you do it often, so I’ll really try to embrace opportunities and experiences,” Anisimova said. “It’s going to be on the big courts, too. I love playing on the big stadium.

“I’m just going to try to go there and really love the atmosphere and enjoy the crowd. Yes, try to fight.

“I would say that when you play against top players, it’s always a little different and special.”
