How to make barbecue chicken
This is a simple step-by-step direction. See the recipe card below for printable instructions.

- Seasoning Drum Knife: Sprinkle with seasoning salt and garlic powder. If you keep your skin on the roller, rub some seasonings underneath the skin. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Make barbecue sauce: Dilute the barbecue sauce (buy homemade or store), mustard and two tablespoons of water.
- Prepare the grill: Start with a clean grill and preheat it to medium. After refueling heat, oil the stove and reduce heat to low.
- roast chicken: Place the drumsticks on the grill, cover the lid, and turn them frequently to make sure they don’t burn. The chicken turns golden, tender and cooks, about 18 to 20 minutes. Check if you are ready to use the thermometer – 165°F should be read.
- BBQ sauce: Brush the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken and cook for about two minutes, a few more times.

Barbecue chicken
There are many ways to eat this simple barbecue chicken. Here are some ideas.
change
- BBQ sauce: When buying barbecue sauce, look for sugars with lower sugar. If you don’t have a store you like, you can make your own homemade barbecue sauce.
- chicken: Use chicken breast or thigh chicken (buy crumbs of bones) or cut into whole chicken and use all parts. Cooking times will vary, but check if it is ready for a thermometer.
- No outdoor grill? Bake the chicken in a 400°F oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or fry for 22 minutes for 22 minutes, turning halfway. Then brush with barbecue sauce and cook for another two minutes.
Do you put the barbecue sauce on the chicken before cooking?
no. The best time to put the barbecue sauce on is that the chicken is about to be ready. If the chicken is raw, the sugar in the sauce turns brown faster than the meat, and the outside of the chicken will burn. I brush the chicken in the last few minutes of cooking.
