What’s the difference in a year? Recalling 52 weeks and remembering one of the most sad moments of the 2024 tennis season: Worry Alex de Minaur At the last point of defeating Arthur Fils in the fourth round, he suffered a hip injury.
Australia is in the whole round, but dark clouds are shrouded. Instead of facing Novak Djokovic In the quarterfinals, he was forced to quit and would not play for another two months at the U.S. Open.
On Saturday at Wimbledon, a healthy De Minaur amplified the reservation for the fourth round booking – you guessed it – with seven-time champion Djokovic.

“It’s fun how life works,” De Minaur told reporters. “We’re here a year later and I’m going to get the game. It’s a round. But last year, it was a cruel moment for me and all of these emotions have to be processed. But here we’ve felt good after that, ready and I’m going to get the chance again. So I’m excited about it.”
Credit De Minaur has returned to its strength. His life against Djokovic was 1-2, winning the legend in the Manchester United Cup in 2024. Djokovic knows his toughest test on Monday against two weeks.
“He’s playing tennis,” Djokovic said. “He’s definitely hitting the final stage of the Grand Slam. He’s been there a few times.
“Unfortunately, I had to quit last year because of my injury. This year he was there again. He didn’t drop the game. He did a good job. You’re not too excited to play Alex de Minaur on the grass, which is for sure because he’s so fast and he’s a full player with a full player around.
“He also made a step in serving. His hit rate is good. It’s just a very tough challenge…I look forward to it. I think it would be a good test to see my game against a top player like Alex.”
