Why You Love These Healthy Flour-Free Oatmeal Cookies

The best chewy texture. If traditional chocolate chip cookies are good, these cookies are more delicious than regular cookies as they take out the flour and replace it with soft hearty oatmeal.

Rich, elevated flavor. Without all the thick and starchy wheat flour to lower the cookies, each bright flavor and texture will glow. Oatmeal has a natural sweetness to every bite and has plenty of chocolate chips.

Guests like them. Cookies are a party favorite. I first created the recipes ten years ago and have been making them for book clubs, birthday parties and potlucks ever since!

Portable dessert option. They are easy to transport and can be thrown on the counter as long as it is not too hot without melting. Guests of all ages and dietary preferences love the classic flour-free chocolate chip cookies.

Key Ingredients

To make a recipe, you need rolling or quick oats, chocolate chips, sweeteners, baking soda, salt, butter or oil, and milk of choice.

Rolling oats – I like traditional vintage Scottish or Irish oats. Quick oats or instant oats can be kneaded. Do not use steel to cut oats.

For gluten-free flour cookies, look for gluten-free oats at the grocery store, or pick up a bag of rolling quinoa flakes.

Chocolate chips – Feel free to use a combination of mini or regular dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate or chocolate chips.

To create vegan flour-free chocolate chip cookies, simply use dairy-free chocolate chips, plant-based butter or oil, and non-cream milk.

sugar – Good sweetener options include conventional granular sugar, brown sugar, unrefined unrefined coconut sugar or sugar-free xylitol.

If you try other options like pure maple syrup, honey, agave or stevia, please let me know how it is going.

Source of fat – Coconut oil, vegetable oil or soft butter all work well.

You can substitute softened peanut butter or almond butter or plant-based butter.

I don’t recommend omitting fat unless you want fluffy muffin cookies.

custom made – To suit your personal taste by stirring a little cinnamon or a small amount of diced walnuts, pecans, almonds, macadamia or chopped coconut, and chocolate chips.

Prepare a recipe for family gatherings or overnight guests? You can easily double or triple all ingredients to feed a large population.

The recipes are naturally egg-free, and they can be oil-free, nut-free and sugar-free. For those who want keto cookies without flour, I include an option in the recipe box.

How to Make Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. First preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix oats, baking soda, salt and sugar in a food processor or blender until texture resembles flour.
  3. Mix with chocolate chips, oil or butter and milk that chooses to form a cookie dough. If it’s too dry, slowly add a tablespoon of extra milk of choice.
  4. Roll the cookie dough with a cookie spatula or hand and place them on a greased baking sheet. The cookies will be spread more with butter than the oil, so if you use oil, put each cookie a little bit and prefer crispy cookies instead of swollen cookies balls.
  5. Bake on the center rack of the oven for only eight minutes, remove from the oven and let cool for another ten minutes, during which time they will hold well.

Storage Tips and Tips

Like traditional chocolate chip cookies, store flour-free chocolate chip cookies.

Leftovers can be refrigerated or stored in containers or cookie jars.

Cookies should stay fresh for up to a month, or may be longer when covered in a cool and dry place.

Want instant chocolate chip cookies without all the work? Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to six months. Melt, enjoy.

An excellent tip to prevent soft and chewy cookies from drying and brittle is to add a small piece of bread to the container.
