Patriotous Alcohol-free cocktail ingredients
Here is what you need:
- Lemon juice. Freshly squeezed lemon juice tastes better than the bottled stuff in the store. You can also replace lime juice with lime juice if you like, but you will get more juice from the lemon.
- Simple syrup. I use a simple syrup with honey naturally sugared, but you can also buy store-buy options to save time.
- Soda. Regular soda or fruity soda will add bubbles to your alcohol-free cocktail, making it even more special.
- Fresh fruit. You need a green apple (as it’s not too prone to browning), fresh strawberries and blueberries to complete the red, white and blue decoration.

How to Make an Alcohol-Free Cocktail on July 4
Step 1:
If you haven’t prepared a batch of honey with simple syrup. It’s just 1/2 cup honey mixed with 1/2 cup boiling water.
Stir well until the honey dissolves and then use it.

Step 2:
In a glass, mix together three tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, three tablespoons of simple syrup and 3/4 cup soda. Stir well to combine and then top with ice.
To prepare the ornament, thinly slice green or yellow apples on the cutting board. (These apples won’t be as brown as some red apples.)
Then use a small star cookie cutter to cut a star out of the apple.

Step 3:
Add a star to each glass made, along with some fresh red and blue berries. Thin sliced strawberries or raspberries will fit in red! Or you can even use a slice of watermelon.
Finish with straw and eat immediately. You can also decorate this refreshing drink with fresh mint leaves or any other extra drink you like.

notes: This ratio is just a suggestion! To lower sugar levels, use a simple syrup than this recipe requires. If you are going to have a non-flossed drink, change the club soda for coconut water and keep excess moisture in the heat of the summer.
- 3 spoon Fresh lemon juice
- 3 spoon Dear Simple Syrup
- ¾ cup Soda or club soda
- Ice, used for service
- Thin sliced strawberries, green apples and blueberries for decoration

Prepare an alcohol-free cocktail by mixing lemon juice, simple syrup and glittering water in a edible glass. Stir well and then top with ice.
-
Cut the green apple into circles and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to press a star into each turn. (See the photos in the post for guidance.) You need to cut the stars as soon as possible before serving so they don’t turn brown.
-
When you prepare your drink, add some sliced strawberries and blueberries to the red and blueberries. Then add an Apple Star to finish the look!
Make honey simple syrup: Mix 1/2 cup honey with 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir well until the honey dissolves and use it as a simple syrup in any recipe that requires it. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Glittering water infusion: I like to use lime-flavored sparkling water for extra citrus flavor, but regular soda or any other flavor can work here as well. I prefer the Spindrift brand because it is made from juice rather than “natural flavor”. (This is not a sponsored post; just my opinion!)
Star Cookie Knife: The one I’m using is old, but this one looks similar. (Member link)
