Dan Evans Don’t be afraid of overtime.
Last August, a tough Evans won the longest match in U.S. Open history, beating Karen Khachanov 6-7 (6), 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4), 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, five hours and 35 minutes.
The elapsed time eclipsed the previous record for 9 minutes.
Before his 7-5, the 7th seed’s 6-2 frustration Frances Tiafoe At Queens Today, Evans told BBC players that they should “complaint with caution” about the crowded tennis schedule, pointing out that more games mean more jobs for players.
Including several stars Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, Alex de Minaur and Casper Ruud All criticized the season’s packed calendar. Evans said stars should apply some real-world perspectives to the tennis world.
“I think when I hear the schedule, we are in the lucky position first [complaints]these guys don’t have to play weekly. Evans told the BBC that you are not allowed to play. The reason for them is that they pick up the bonus pool.
“We have to be careful to complain [the schedule]we have a lot of good jobs. There are many people in the world working hard, so we have to be cautious about the tough schedule. We were allowed to take a leave and we were independent contractors, so that’s where I stand. ”
After Ruud exited Roland Garros early, Ruud played the “Rat Game”, an ATP Tour, breaking up shot said if you miss a mandatory event that forces players to even get injured, busy schedules, ranking in games and financial fines.
“In terms of ranking, it’s also like a rat game,” Rude told the Paris media. “Of course, if my legs were broken, I wouldn’t play. But anyway, it’s tough, especially when there’s a time when there’s a necessary event to skip them, because the punishment is very difficult, as far as everyone else is concerned, playing football, getting points, and you won’t.
“Also, if you don’t participate in a mandatory event, you have a certain bonus system set up. It’s a suspicious system because on the one hand you don’t want someone injured and you might put it on someone else.
“I’m not sure if you know, but if you don’t participate in a mandatory event, they cut 25% of your year-end bonus. You kind of force players to get injured or sick, or anything else when I think it’s not very fair.”

De Minaur, whose four straight big quarterfinals wins were snapped up in Roland Garros, called on the ATP to develop a simple solution or face the consequences: shorten the season or shorten the player’s career.
“The solution is to shorten it because what will happen is that the player’s career will get shorter because they’ll just burn it mentally,” Demeer said. “There’s too much tennis.”
“Look, “Look, there is no excuse anymore, because today, myself, what happened today. I need to look in the mirror and find out why, because ultimately this won’t change. It doesn’t look like it will change. I had to adapt and make sure it didn’t happen again. ”
