This creamy Cannoli dip gives you all the flavor and texture of a classic Italian canned pastry. Stir in a nice dessert dip for your next party and watch it disappear!

The best chocolate chip cannoli dipping sauce
I was lucky enough to come from a large Italian family where parties always include a lot of real dishes.
Think of lasagna, cacciore, gravel, antipasti, piñoli biscuits and my favorite homemade cans filled with ricotta.
As a kid, I liked to have Cannoli filling before the crust. Everyone knows that filling is the best part.
This quick, bake-free canned dip is easy to make and whipped in a minute. Plus, it’s a huge crowd.
If you like the Cannoli dip in Trader Joe’s package, you’ll love my 5-ingredient homemade version even more.

Key Ingredients
You will need cream cheese, ricotta, powdered sugar, pure vanilla extract and mini chocolate chips.
Cream cheese – Use any full-fat Philadelphia-style cream cheese, or choose plant-based cream cheese as a vegetarian can. Low-fat or fat-free cream cheese may also work, but I haven’t tried it.
Ricotta – To mimic the texture of traditional Cannoli fillers, use whole milk ricotta or dairy-free alternatives. Mascarpone can be replaced equally.
Powdered sugar – The regular powdered sugar or confectioner candy works. Or process coconut sugar in a blender to make unrefined powdered sugar. For Keto Cannoli dip, use pink red th alcohol or monk fruit mixture.
vanilla – For the best flavor, look for pure vanilla extract. Don’t omit this ingredient or substitute for artificial vanilla seasonings, as the flavors won’t be the same.
Chocolate chips – I love semi-sweet mini chocolate chips. If you like, please use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, or even cream fries of any size.

Step by step explanation
- Let the cream cheese go to room temperature for easier mixing. This step is important for achieving a smooth texture.
- Collect all ingredients, as well as stand mixers, food processors or hand mixers, and medium-sized meal bowls.
- Mix cream cheese, ricotta, powdered sugar and pure herb extract until thick.
- Turn off the mixer and stir the chocolate chips by hand.
- Transfer whipped cream to serving bowl. Or, if you make a recipe ahead of time, put it in the container and store it in the refrigerator.
- When ready to enjoy, flour with powdered sugar and a bunch of chocolate chips or pistachios.
- Refrigerate leftovers for up to a week. After freezing, frozen sap will produce a cold texture, so I don’t recommend frozen recipes.

Cannoli Dessert Dip
Snickerdoodle: Whisk up to two teaspoons of cinnamon with other ingredients and omit the chocolate chips.
Dark Chocolate: Add three cups of cocoa powder, increase the powdered sugar to two cups, and then increase the vanilla extract to one tablespoon.
Pumpkin Pie: Add a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spices and cinnamon. Replace two ounces of ricotta with canned pumpkin puree.
Strawberry Crispy: Buy strawberry-flavored cream cheese. Serve with sliced strawberries, shortbread or pound cake into small squares.
Peanut Butter Cup: Whip the fourth cup of softened peanut butter until smooth. Or try almond butter, cashew butter, or homemade peanut butter.
Tiramisu: Throw in half a teaspoon of instant coffee powder before mixing. Decorate with dust sprinkled with cocoa powder and place on a plate with lady dipping sauce.

How do you provide Cannoli Dip?
Serve with Graham Crackers, Oreo Cookies or Ginger snapshots.
Or make a Cannoli Charcuterie board with pizza or broken waffles, fresh berries, apple slices, bananas and other fruits.
Add it as a frosting between the chocolate almond flour cake layers.
The recipe is great too because the healthy, low-calorie scattered on quick bread, not on butter or cream cheese.
Try it on top of this strawberry bread or my chocolate banana bread.
