Venus Williams Bring the elegance of emerald to the Metropolitan Gala in Manhattan.
Former world number one Venus Williams wears for a year Laxter “Kelp Green” dress and dramatic robe inspired. Haute couture creation is made by Pelagia Kolotouros.
The 44-year-old Venus is the Lacoste brand ambassador.
Lacoste said in a press release that the design was based on multiple inspirations.
“[Venus’] What Lacoste imagines is that the appearance of the Met Gala ranges from the key characters at the core to the theme, from the talent of André Leon Talley to the Joséphine Baker’s name as Black Venus. ”
Four-time Olympic gold medalist Venus shared some behind-the-scenes images of the night on Instagram in New York City.
“I’m so happy to be back in the Mets this year, especially with a great debut with Lacoste,” said Venus Williams. “Working with Pelagia to make the night even more special with this custom look. We’ve worked together for years and it felt like a full moment.”

Lacoste
First, the Polo collar and Placket of the Polo collar top are painted on the bodysuit of Poto Ry, and are made by Atelier Baqué Molinié, a Paris-based textile design studio known for its embroidery expertise.
The tailor-made cloth is decorated with no less than 1,500 pierced crystals, 1,500 sequined, 2,800 fools and 11,200 round beads.
Custom made silk wool hybrid skirt with sunrise finish showing off movement, short front and long at the back – requires 30 meters of fabric, skillfully handled by Lemarié. This latest high-profile collaboration strengthens Lacoste’s close relationship with the historic French Maison D’Art, founded in 1880, and is known for its soft expertise.
