Mensik makes Madrid’s next proof ground

Jakub Mensik – All he did was win.
The 19-year-old won his Virgin Masters 1,000 title in Miami on March 31, but did not skip the red clay. On Tuesday, he did a brief job Alexander Bubic6-3 6-2 in 53 minutes, becoming the fifth junior to enter the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open.

Mensik has brought his masters to nine straight wins and became the first player since Daniil Medvedev to reach the quarter-finals in his next ATP Masters event in 2019, after he won his first Masters title in the last match.
Mensik, ranked 23rd, has improved to 17-7 this season and is currently ranked 20th in the current ATP live rankings. He will face it Francisco Cerundolo Next.
During the competition, Mensik was highly praised by Bublik.
“He’s so nice,” Bubic told referee Mohamed Lehani after shaking hands. The Kazakhs also entered a single, supporting the talents of Czech teenagers.
