To make sugar-free donuts, you need almond powder, yogurt, baking powder, a little salt and a sweetener of choice.

Almond powder – The same goes for natural and light almond flour work, as well as a fine almond meal for flourless donuts.

Look for almond flour in the flour or natural food aisles of many regular grocery stores, Trader Joe's, Target or Whole Foods.

For nut-free options, whisk a batch of roast cinnamon sugar donuts.

yogurt – Pair it with thick whole fat yogurt for best results. I love Kite Mountain Greek yogurt that is low-carb, high-protein and dairy-free.

Sweetener – Choose your favorite powdered sweetener option, such as red coupons or monk fruit, vocabulary or stevia baking blend.

If you don't count carbohydrates, powdered sugar will do the same.

Optional toppings – Decorate bakery-style donuts with rainbow sprinkles, chopped coconut, chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips.

Keto Donut Flavor

Glazing: Stir in half a cup of powdered sweetener with a tablespoon of water and a few drops of pure vanilla extract. Add more water to thin frosting.

Chocolate scrub: Top each toasted donut with chocolate cream cheese frosting or low-carb, keto-friendly homemade peanut butter.

Cinnamon-free sugar: Combine two tablespoons of cinnamon powder with half a cup of ground sweetener to make your own ketocinnamon sugar coating.

maple: Stir two drops of maple extract into the yogurt and mix it with almond flour. Or add a drop of maple extract to the frosting of your choice.

strawberry: Replace a tablespoon of yogurt with diced strawberries. Using the glaze recipe above, exchange the strawberry jam for water.

pink: This is easy. Dip the cooled donuts in pink erythrocyte alcohol or your favorite low-carb powdered sugar alternative.

How to make keto donuts

This recipe will produce six small donuts, or you can double all the ingredients for a larger yield.

first step: Collect your ingredients and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If using an optional donut pan, lubricate it with coconut oil or a grease-free spray.

Step 2: Mix almond flour, baking powder, salt and powdered sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Stir well to blend all ingredients evenly.

Step 3: Stir the yogurt to form a thick dough. If the batter is too wet or too dry, slowly add more flour or yogurt.

Step 4: Use your hands to form traditional donut shapes or donut holes, press the dough into a large or mini donut pan if you like.

Step 5: Bake in a donut pan or cookie board for ten minutes. Then remove the low carb donuts from the oven and let cool.

Keto Air Fryer Donuts

For those who want to fry donuts instead of heating the oven, you are lucky.

After shaping the donut holes or mini donuts, preheat the air fryer's machine to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place unbaked dough pieces on a fryer tray and cook for five to eight minutes, or until baked until you like.

Remove air frying donuts from the heat and cool, then cover with frosting or glaze of choice.

Are keto donuts healthy?

There is only one donut that will get you close to 10 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.
