17-year-old Iva Jovic, Emilio Nava brings Usta Wild Cards into Roland-Garros

Iva Jovic and Emilio Nava have won the efforts of Roland-Garros.

USTA announced that the two won the Roland-Garros wildcard challenge. They played in clay courts across continents, and the players finished the top rankings in a five-week period, winning a major draw in Paris.

USTA uses wildcard challenge to grant wildcards to Australia, France and the United States open.

17-year-old Jovic finished the five-week Challenge with 142 points, earned by winning the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Charlottesville, Va., (100 pts.) and reaching the second round at both the WTA 250 in Bogota (30 pts.) and the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Bonita Springs, Fla. (12 pts.) Torrance native Jovic has now earned her way into the last three. s

She recently played the second round in Indian Wells in the second round of the 2024 U.S. Open, entering the second round of the HD round at the Australian Open this year.

Jovic is currently ranked 120 and reached the quarter-finals last year in the Roland-Garros Women’s Championship. She ranks second in the junior rankings.

Nava, ranked 137, won the men’s challenge with 119 points and has been fighting passionately this spring. He made consecutive ATP Challenger Finals, won the championship in Sarasota, Florida (75 points) and reached the final in Tallahassee, Florida, (44 points) on a winning streak in 19 games.

The 23-year-old is 31-11 in all levels in 2025 this year, playing Clay in addition to two games. He also played against the top 150 of ATP and was 6-3.
